Dr. Bill Bowerman wading ashore to access a nest. WOWRI partnered with the Little Traverse Bay Bands of the Odawa Indians in northern Michigan to visit nests and measure and sample eaglets near the reservation. Many nests we visit are remote and require boats to access.

Our climber, Dr. Mike Wierda, taking a selfie with an eaglet in a nest high up in a white pine. Climbing is hard work, but Mike gets a rest hanging in the tree and talking with the nestlings while the ground crew are measuring and sample its siblings.
